Hi all Merry Christmas and a wonderfull 2012 to you all God bless.
I will never forghet the Ordnance Corps Parade in the middle of Summer rows and rows of Tents full off Soldiers from around Australia a Parade that from the form up point to the dispersal point lasted at least three hours.
The Practice Days before the Official Ceremoney was even more funn lol.
Some even got the idear that drinking lots Grog the night before the Official Ceremoney would see them stead fast through it all rol instead kissing the dirt in the hot sunn.
Best Parade ever longest Parade ever and the most rewarding parade ever for our boys.
Only thing that disapointed myself was that the Queen her self did not present the Banner to our Corps however the Governor General was good and as always Speaches where to long lol hell tell me what Parade has short Speaches lol.
20 years 4 days Service only 24 Months was bad the rest was awsome and i wouldent change much of it ither.

Hi, I was a RNZAOC soldier who served with 2AOD/OFP 1969/70 and attended a course at Bandiana as a WO1 in about 1975/6. If there is anyone that remembers me and would like to touch base I would be rapt to hear from you. Keep your powder dry and 'Go the All Blacks"

Hi, I enlisted with 1 BVD at Gaythorne, Qld, in 1974, posted to 1 Ord Svcs Unit then 1 Ord Pl and spent some time at Kelvin Grove prior to returning to Ashgrove.
I would like to contact members who were around at the time.
LCol Lovejoy, Maj's Shanahan & Lederle were of prominance at the time as was Capt Russ Brown.
Ron Walker, Alex Skelson, Quinton Carson-Beales, Dick Grayson, were a few of the many OR's that conjour up fond memories of my time with the Unit.
WO's were Graham Sheehan, George Brannigan, JJ (John) Sherrington, Cyril O'Brien & Eric Wall.
Cadre staff over my time was Kev Maguire, Bill Robinson, Smokey Dawson & John "Stash".
I often visit Brizzie to catch up with family and would like to link up with some "old" buddies over a bevvie or 2 or 10.
Cheers.......Dave Graham (Kiwi)

I am writing a biography of Captain John Murphy, a New Guinea Patrol Officer, Coastwatcher, POW and PNG District Commissioner. On release from captivity Murphy was court-martialled for giving information to the enemy- and honourably acquitted. Don Edgar sat on the court-martial. A note on Don is below. Is anyone able to tell me more about Don?

____________
Donald James Edgar was born in Geelong on 26 October 1914. He enlisted in the Militia when living at Essendon, Victoria in May 1933, serving for four months before he resigned because of a change of address. He enlisted again at Geelong in April 1934, giving his occupation as Dairy Produce Shop Assistant. He was a member of the Rover Scout movement and keen skier. Sgt Edgar, 22 Field Battery, continued in the Militia until 1940 when he joined AIF. Edgar had wide experience in all phrases of ammunition duties in the Middle East (February 1941-March 1942), New Guinea (June 1945- January 1946) and in Australia. Major Edgar, 2/1 Aust. Ordnance Ammunition Corps, was discharged in January 1946. He was an examiner in the Inspection Branch, Munition Supply Board , when war broke out. He returned to these duties when he returned to civilian life in January 1946. In July 1946 Edgar returned to the active list, the Army being concerned at the lack of Ordinance Officers. He transferred to the R of O in January 1956.
